Illustrious Women: Part 1
We begin our short series for May on some important, influential women, mostly of Scotland. This week we look at Philosopher Elizabeth Anscombe and Barbara Simpkin.
In this small series we thought we would look at some important women who have been influential in their own ways mostly in Scotland and one who greatly contributed to 20th Century Philosophical discourse. Part one includes Barbara Simpkin and Elizabeth Anscombe. Both quite different but important. Part two will be published at the end of the month which will include Mother Veronica Cordier and Sister Agnes Xavier Trail. The reason we are doing this now is of course this is the month of Mary and as she is so instrumental in our salvation history it is worth noting just how important women are and have been in the story of Scottish Catholicism. If you would like to explore our Marian resources please go here where you will find Litanies, the Rosary in Scots and some other downloadable prayers.
