This week there are a couple of articles on the issue of Artifical Intelligence and its impact on our lives. AI is not new but the release of chatgpt and other similar programmes have exploded the issue in the media and our everyday lives. We have always known (or should do) that algorithims guide many aspects of life, but up until now we have never had to ask whether they can think and what that means for humanity. This is a huge issue, and one that requires our own thinking about; so luckily we have Fr Jean Gové, a Maltese Priest and Philosopher who has been studying at St Andrews recently, and a new contributor, Jack Heitman who writes often on the subject.
Our Saints for the coming month include St Asaph who is connected with St Kentigern, St Fumac venerated in Banffshire whose icon was carefully kept right into the mid-19th century before a flood and zealous minister destroyed it. Not to mention the important Irish Saint- Comgall, and the great British church historian St Bede.
