From next Wednesday and on an occasional and irregular basis you will each receive as a part of your offering from the Coracle a new newsletter called; The Crombie Burn Reader. This is designed to dig a bit deeper into the theological and philosophical aspects of our faith and draw out the very foundations of what we believe and why. I am delighted to say that Fr Aiden Nichols, a well known and respected Domincan Theologian will be contributing as will Sisters’s Francesca and Claire of the Apostolic Sisters of St John, who have begun serving in Aberdeen University as Chaplains.
The Crombie Burn at Scalan, Braes of Livet.
As you know, both of these newsletters are being produced on a voluntary basis by a small team who are not paid for their time. However, there are also some running costs which up until now we have been absorbing. As we grow with the intention of creating a treasure trove of quality Catholic resources here in Scotland these costs will inevitably increase. As such, we humbly ask you to consider whether you’d like to donate something to the continuing running costs and development of them?
Therefore we have set up a 'crowdfunding'Â GoFundMe page in the hope that if you are getting something out of the newsletters you may wish to contribute to their growth. Please only consider this if you are able to - it's really important to us that we provide the resources for free so that everyone has the opportunity to access them hence we are only asking that those who are comfortably off consider this request. We aim to register as a charity with the first donations in order that everything will be transparent. If you want to go and have a look at our GoFundMe Page please the button below to find out more.
This year’s plan is already taking shape with Specials coming up on Dante (celebrating his 700th anniversary this year) , Easter with George Mackay Brown and a look at Catholic-Muslims relations for Eid, not to mention more treats from our regular writers and some new voices making an appearance.
As always, if you have any questions, queries or suggestions please get in touch and if you like this newsletter and what we do please share it!
God Bless from Eric & the teamÂ
